Dairy-Free French Onion Dip is a delightful creamy classic retro dip with a mild flavor of onion. This nostalgic dip is made with caramelized onions, canned coconut milk, and homemade mayo. A scrumptious and delicious party dip. Perfect for tailgating or the Super Bowl. Consequently, this is a small batch of dip. Needless to say, there are several restaurants around town that allow me to bring in my own dressings and toppings.
Dairy-Free French Onion Dip
Indeed, it used to be very popular. I guess it is vintage now. In fact, most people nowadays make it from the Lipton Onion Soup mix. Believe it or not, this recipe was very popular in the ’70s and ’80s. Nevertheless, it was a favorite of mine. Therefore, I wanted to create a similar recipe. In any case, I came up with this recipe for crackers, vegetables, and chips. This dip is “hydrogenated fat-free” and preservative-free. Often I place it on a baked sweet potato or baked potato. What a decadent treat that is. Needless to say, this makes approximately 1/2 a cup of dip. Perfect to use as an appetizer for a small dinner party say for 4 people. However, if you need more just double or triple.
It makes the perfect amount to bring with you when you eat out. Without a doubt, there is even enough to share. It is a perfect amount for two people.
Hence, I use Lano Life Beef Broth for this recipe. At any rate, I researched to find a powdered bone broth that I could use. I purchased it off of Amazon. It is currently unavailable through Amazon.
